Miami University is a four year accredited university offering undergraduate and graduate studies. One of the midwest's most prestigious public universities, Miami was ranked 62nd in 2005 out of all the public and private institutions in the United States.
Established in 1809, Miami University's name comes from the Miami Indian tribe which inhabited the Miami Valley region of Ohio. Considered one of the most beautiful campuses in America, Miami's residential, academic and administration buildings are made of red brick. Currently there are 15,300 undergraduates and 1,400 graduate students who call Oxford, Ohio home for three quarters of the year. The University offers over 100 different bachelor degrees, over 50 master's degrees, and 14 different doctoral degrees. On Miami's regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, Ohio there are 14 different associate degrees available. Miami University also features a European Center in Luxembourg for those who wish to study abroad. |
